Uttar Pradesh’s array in the Republic Day parade was deemed the best while the Indian Navy’s marching contingent topped the three services, the Defense Ministry said on Friday.
The Uttar Pradesh chart was based on the theme “one district one product and Kashi Vishwanath Dham”. A total of 12 states and union territories participated in the Republic Day parade on January 26.
Second place went to Karnataka for its painting based on the “cradle of traditional craftsmanship” while third place went to Meghalaya, the defense ministry said.
The North Eastern State painting was based on Meghalaya’s 50 years of statehood and its tribute to cooperative societies and women-led self-help groups.
Paintings from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Civil Aviation were declared co-winners in the Central Ministries and Departments category.
The theme of the chart from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship was ‘National Education Policy’.
The painting from the Ministry of Civil Aviation was based on the theme “Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik”.
Nine boards of central ministries/departments participated in the parade.
Paintings from the Department of Housing and Town (CPWD) were shortlisted for the Special Prize category.
“The Indian Navy Marches Contingent has been judged as the best marches contingent among the three services,” the Ministry of Defense said.
For the first time, the general public was invited to vote for the best marching contingents and the best tables in the popular choice category via the MyGov platform.
The online survey was conducted between January 25 and 31.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) received the maximum votes on MyGov as the best marching contingent among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) / other auxiliary forces.
The Ministry of Defense said Maharashtra was voted the top performer among the states/union territories in the popular choice category.
The Maharashtra painting was based on the theme “Biodiversity and State Bio-Symbols of Maharashtra”.
By popular choice, the Indian Air Force Marching Contingent was chosen as the best marching contingent among the three services.
“Second place went to Uttar Pradesh (popular choice), while Jammu and Kashmir’s painting themed ‘The Changing Face of Jammu and Kashmir’ finished third,” the ministry said. defense.
“The painting of the Ministry of Communication/Postal Department was judged as the best painting among the central ministries/departments based on the selection of people,” he added.
The Ministry of Defense said a three-member jury had been appointed to assess performance in the parade.
