Secretary of State Mag. Monika Kirbiš Rojs participates in the online event of the Pomurje Region Development Council

The online event took place between 10 and 11 a.m. and was organized by the Pomurje Region Development Council, namely the Murska Sobota Development Center. The main event had seven items on the agenda, namely:

  • information on the activities concerning the partnership agreement for the period 2021-2027 and the bases for the implementation program of the European cohesion policy for the period 2021-2027,
  • information on the possibilities of setting up a dental service outside opening hours,
  • information on the problem of the evacuation of sludge from municipal treatment plants,
  • the initiative of the municipality Gornja Radgona to support the expansion project of the industrial zone of Mele,
  • the importance and role of the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Activities,
  • presentation of the regional office of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Societies, and
  • information on current activities.

Under the first item on the agenda, Secretary of State Mag. Monika Kirbiš Rojs made a detailed presentation of the Partnership Agreement and the EU Cohesion Policy Implementation Program for the period 2021-2027.

In her address, the Secretary of State also underlined that EU Cohesion Policy support should be used to build partnership between different levels of governance, reduce development disparities and ensure comparable living conditions. in all walks of life.

The State Secretary pointed out that currently 565 projects are being implemented in the Pomurje region, namely 486 projects under the investment target for growth and employment with a total value of 115, 48 million euros, and 79 projects under the European territorial cooperation objective for a total amount of 41.28 million euros.

Participants concluded the one-hour online event with a joint discussion and exchange of views on current issues and challenges in the Pomurje region.
