Sabinal Library hosting bingo, a live music event

Tomorrow at the Sabinal Public Library, there will be bingo for ages 18 and up between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. We would be delighted to welcome you. It’s not a paid game but more of a way to see friends, make new friends and have a good time. Win a bingo, win a prize.

On Friday March 18, Irish music will be played for your entertainment. Come listen to or read a good book, perhaps one with an Irish theme.

In municipal news, the municipal council will meet on Monday March 14, at 7 p.m.

If you are interested in the politics and policies of our city, you are welcome. To speak at the meeting, arrive a few minutes early and complete the appropriate form. You will be heard.

Sabinal City Municipal Judge Cynthia Casburn led the Republican Party primary race for the PCT. 2 Justice of the peace for the regions of Knippa and Sabinal.

No Democrats ran against her, meaning she will serve as a Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 beginning Jan. 1, 2023. Sabinal Elementary Fourth Grade Honor Roll students include freshmen Sabella Quintanilla and Abigail. Turner; sophomores Liliana Dantin and Jerolin Guerrero; Cambrian Carter, fourth grade student; and fifth graders Sean Carrasco, Eva Fuentes, Dakota Horgeshimer, Niomie Rodriguez, Gabriel Sandoval, Che Schiel, Hunter Tinker and Alina Valadez.

Around the city

In Sabinal Independent School District Sports, our high school tennis team will host the Sabinal Tennis Tournament today and tomorrow. The Sabinal Lady Jackets junior varsity softball teams will play Brackettville here at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, March 14.

As a reminder, the period from March 14 to 18 was reserved for spring vacation.
