Republic Services cancels North Bend trash and recycling pickups for Jan. 12 due to union strike

Republic Services advised the City of North Bend this morning that they would be unable to serve customers on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, due to a temporary work stoppage/strike by union members out of State.

Missed customers can deposit additional amounts on their next scheduled pickup day.

This latest strike-caused cancellation is an unfortunate moment as it follows weeks of missed collections due to recent snowstorms. The City is aware that this has created hardship for many residents who can now go four weeks without garbage, recycling and yard waste collection.

The city requires Republic Services to provide cash rebates to City of North Bend customers for December 2021 and January 2022 bills, credits to local dump transfer stations, and/or refunds for money spent at local transfers.

Residents are advised to keep receipts if they choose to take their solid waste to a landfill/transfer station. The City will request that these costs be reimbursed to you.

We will provide updates as we receive additional information from Republic Services regarding ongoing collection cancellations.

Please visit the North Bend Republic Services website for more information at www.republicservices.com/municipality/north-bend-wa.

Republic Services can also be reached at 206-682-9730 for residential customer service and 206-682-3037 for commercial customer service.

The City thanks citizens for their patience.
