Opposition leader extends best wishes on Taiwan’s 111th National Day

By Zoila Palma González: Opposition Leader Shyne Barrow joined in offering good wishes to Taiwan as it celebrates its 111e National holiday on October 10.

Taiwan’s National Day commemorates the start of the Wuchang Uprising in China on October 10, 1911.

“The opposition takes this opportunity to thank the Taiwanese of the ROC for their commitment to Belize and the vast economic and educational support they have provided and continue to provide Belize,” Barrow said.

“We remain two nations forever linked by our shared values ​​of human rights, democracy, freedom and independence, our firm belief in self-determination and the preservation of our territorial integrity, our indomitable will to continue to prosper in the face of insurmountable obstacles and existential threats,” he added.

Barrow said the opposition remains committed to the lasting friendship and support of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
