Extension of the functions of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health and the State Agency on Compulsory Health Insurance

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev decreed amendment of Decree No. 614 “On Implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Azerbaijan” of December 26, 2001, Decree No. ° 413 “On approval of the regulations on the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the composition and determination of the maximum number of employees” of May 25, 2006, Decree No. 1592 “On the guarantee of activities of the National Compulsory Health Insurance Agency” of September 6, 2017, as well as the abolition of Decree No. 251 “On Implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Organ Transplantation and ( or) human tissue” of January 15, 2000, reports Azernrews per Orientation.

According to the order, the Ministry of Health has been empowered to take measures in accordance with the law “On the donation and transplantation of human organs and (or) tissues”, in particular by ensuring public awareness in this field. , monitoring the process of organ donation and transplantation, as well as creating a unified state information database of donors, recipients and donor organs to maintain a single record.

Meanwhile, with the introduction of amendments to the “Charter of the State Agency on Compulsory Health Insurance”, the functions of the State Agency on Compulsory Health Insurance have been expanded with l introduction of amendments to the agency’s charter.

According to the changes, the agency’s responsibilities include controlling the quality and safety of medical activities in the manner prescribed by the Law “On Protection of Public Health”, regarding organ donation and transplantation and of human tissues, as well as information of the population in this area.
