“The Title 42 rollback will have devastating results on every level, for Americans and migrants alike.”
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) joined House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and fellow House Republicans on Monday for a National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) briefing followed by a press conference on key takeaways from the meeting.

“Yesterday we heard the grim realities of life for our Border Patrol agents on the front lines of this border crisis and what awaits our men and women in green once Title 42 is lifted,” said Congressman Gonzales. “Not only does this put a strain on our officers, it creates a new life-threatening incentive for migrants to cross the border and, with the hottest months of the year on the horizon, we are sure to see the already historic numbers double, leading to a record number of migrant deaths. Rolling back Title 42 will lead to devastating results on every level, for Americans and migrants alike.”
Last week, Congressman Gonzales joined Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) in leading a letter alongside members of the Texas delegation urging DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra to keep Title 42 in place.
